I Shall Not Want

The Lord is my shepherd,

I shall not want.

² He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

This week Gospel Rocks Ranch had a bit of a plumbing problem. Without warning, the gravity-fed cattle trough suddenly ran dry. With ten large animals relying on this as their most convenient and ready source of water, the sudden “mini drought” caused a real issue. We have a small tank on the back of the property, but the animals need to make a significant hike to reach that water.

Fortunately, Tractor Supply had the portable water troughs we needed and quickly the animals had clean water within easy reach. The stress we faced trying to figure out a solution for our animals was a wonderful reminder of Psalm 23. The Lord is the Good Shepherd. He always provides for our needs- leading us to quiet waters. He restores our soul. Although the challenges of life sometimes feel insurmountable, we have a loving Heavenly Father who already knows our needs and is ready and able to meet them.
